Pattonville announces Teacher, Support Staff of Year

Eleanor Taylor, an English learner teacher at Pattonville High School, was named Pattonville Teacher of the Year, and Lisa Foust, high school academic monitor, was named district Support Staff of the Year. The announcements were made during Pattonville’s virtual District Appreciation Night on May 3.

Also honored were recipients of Pattonville’s inaugural Rookie of the Year awards for certified and support staff. The award honors those in their first or second year of service in the district. Kelsey Hibbits, an early childhood special education teacher at the Pattonville Early Childhood Center, was honored with the certified staff Rookie of the Year award, and Reem Tahsin, a high school English learner paraprofessional, was chosen for the support staff award. 

Other finalists for Pattonville Teacher of the Year were Marjorie Justice, early childhood special education teacher at the Early Childhood Center, and Kelly Strobel, sixth grade science teacher at Pattonville Heights Middle School. Other finalists for Pattonville Support Staff of the Year were Brandy Fowler, paraprofessional at Parkwood Elementary School, and Abby Reckamp, paraprofessional at Remington Traditional School.

District honorees and finalists for Teacher of the Year and Support Staff of the Year were building-level honorees for the respective awards. Other building-level honorees/semifinalists for Teacher of the Year were: Keri Gleason, English learner teacher at Bridgeway Elementary School; Brenda Kelch, kindergarten teacher at Drummond Elementary School; Chip Ianiri, district technology specialist at Parkwood; Amy Frost, kindergarten teacher at Rose Acres Elementary School; Kristen Gartland, kindergarten teacher at Willow Brook Elementary School; Danica Johnson, sixth grade math/science teacher at Remington; and Scott Wagner, district technology specialist at Holman Middle School.

Other building-level honorees/semifinalists for Support Staff of the Year were: Laura Wick, secretary at the Early Childhood Center; Kara Crimson, nurse at Bridgeway; Lynn Becker, secretary at Drummond; Tina Sandheinrich, Special School District (SSD) teacher’s aide at Rose Acres; Jesica Misuraca, paraprofessional at Willow Brook; Lisa Roth, iLearn technology aide at Holman; Joe Groceman, custodian at Pattonville Heights; and Steven Pikes, lead electrician in the maintenance department (district services group).
